From the north....

Via Turin (Torino)/ France:

On the highway A21 (Torino – Piacenza) at Alessandria Sud you take the exit to the A26 (Gravellona – Genova) in the direction of Genova.

Now on the A26 you take the first exit in the direction of Alessandria Sud. After the toll-gate you stay to the right in the direction of Acqui Terme.

You are now driving on the provincial way S 30. This you follow to the village of Spigno Monferrato. (In that process you will pass through the quaint villages of o.a. Cassine, Strevi, Acqui Terme, Bistagno and Montechiaro d’Acqui).

Immediately upon entering Spigno Monferrato (the white welcoming plaque states Spigno M.to) you take the left exit (actually a small road) in the direction of Sassello, Pareto. From here the last 12 km's through the green hills South-East of Spigno Monferrato lead you to the small township of Squaneto.

You now find yourself driving on the SP 215. Attention: after a few hundred metres there's a sharp right turn around a small white chapel. This winding road you must follow until right after the kilometer sign 7 (white sign with black number). At this point you go right to Squaneto. (Attention: after about 3 miles you will already have passed another exit Squaneto, do not take this one!)

After another 1,4 miles you go left. After the second bridge (about 1 mile) you go right in the direction of Squaneto. You are now entering Squaneto. This road you must follow until the first exit left in the direction of Giusvalla. Immediately one-third of a mile after the bridge the entrance to Tenuta Squaneto is located.

From Switzerland:

If you drive through Switzerland and cross the border via the Gotthard tunnel (free of charge) at Chiasso, you descend the A 9 along the Como lake in a southerly direction and then you have two options:

Option 1: A (slightly longer but quieter) route to avoid the Milan ring road:
Take the exit for Varese (A36) then drive the A8 towards Varese / Gravellona T. Then head towards Genova. The A8 then turns into e A26. Now on the A26 you take the first exit in the direction of Alessandria Sud.

Continued description further from *)

Option 2: Via Milan (Milano):
At the ring ('tangenziale') of Milan, follow signs for A7 Genova. Continue on this motorway until the exit for the A21 (Torino - Piacenza) towards Torino.

On the A21, at Alessandria Sud, take the exit for the A26 (Gravellona - Genova) towards Genova. (note: this exit comes just after the exit towards Gravellona)
Now on the A26 you take the first exit in the direction of Alessandria Sud.

*) After the toll gate, keep right in the direction of Acqui Terme.

From the south....

On the highway A6 (Savona – Torino) to Torino you exit at Altare. After the toll-gate you stay to the right in the direction of Cairo Montenotte, Acqui Terme.

You are now travelling on the provincial road S 29 which later on becomes the S 30. You must follow this road until you arrive in Spigno Monferrato. (The quaint villages of Carcare, Cairo Montenotte, Piana Crixia and Merana will pass your revue).

After the gas station in Spigno Monferrato on the S 30, you take the exit to the right to Sassello, Pareto immediately past the bridge. From here the last 12 km's through the green hills South-East of Spigno Monferrato lead you to the small township of Squaneto.
